Fees

My fees are transparent from the outset and after a free initial, informal consultation (or just a chat) I’ll provide an estimate and we can discuss whether your project works best as a fixed price or whether you’d prefer to pay by hourly or daily rate.

My rates are very competitive and because we’re a small company working from our home office our overheads are very low so we may be cheaper than some of the larger consultancy firms. So you’ll get a bespoke and personal service but at a lower price. Once we’ve agreed a price there will be no hidden extras such as charging for letters or meetings or site visits which some of the larger companies may do.

I’m happy to discuss speculative projects where we could discuss reduced up front fees in return for a share of profit uplift. I’m interested in speculative ideas where we share the risk, take a punt and hopefully reap the rewards. I can also provide ballpark estimates for any other costs which might arise, for example architect’s fees or specialist reports or surveys which may be required.

I will use my experience and knowledge and pragmatic approach to advise the most cost effective way to spend money and where to make savings and where some things are worth investing in for the added value they bring, for example good quality design and front-loading the planning process with early engagement. The planning process can be expensive and slow. And the two are often linked. Generally, the longer planning takes the more it costs. So I try to make the process as quick, straightforward and hassle free for my clients as possible.

Geographical areas covered

The consultancy is based in Cornwall, and I specialise in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and the South West. But although I’m based in the south-west I’m happy to take on jobs nationwide and I’m likely to be more competitively priced than bigger, urban based consultancies.  With remote working technology geography is no longer a barrier to communication and working.

Wherever your project is drop me an email or fill out the contact form for a quick informal chat or free initial consultation.

Planning is something that people have to do by law, so they shouldn’t get ripped off for having to do it.
