Roseland Planning are a brand new, small, independent planning consultancy service. We’re a husband and wife team. Chris is the qualified planner who does all the planning stuff. Leanne supports the business by doing pretty much everything else – emails, admin, book-keeping, marketing etc. Because we’re small we can offer an independent and individual, personal service tailored to your needs.
Being new we bring a fresh approach and a positive, cheerful outlook.
About Chris
I’m Chris and I’m a qualified town planner with a masters in Spatial Planning and over 17 years experience in planning, most recently in beautiful Cornwall specialising in housing, particularly affordable housing. I have worked ‘on both sides’ determining planning applications for a Local Authority and also preparing and submitting planning applications. I have experience in local authority planning development control, planning policy, affordable housing and housing delivery departments. So I understand different perspectives and have a broad knowledge of the development process and how to balance commercial, economic, social and environmental considerations.
Whatever your project may be I can apply my extensive experience, specialist knowledge and can-do attitude to maximise the chances of success so planning doesn't become a barrier to what you want to achieve.
My approach to planning
Good planning and good design should result in positive outcomes not negative ones. Sometimes planning can be overly complicated and unnecessarily adversarial. Done right planning should result in good quality development which brings about benefits be they aesthetic, economic or social. I approach planning in a positive and collaborative manner and aim to break down the ‘them and us’ between applicants and the Local Planning Authority (Council).
